Folks love going out to the movies on Fridays and Saturday nights. But we've observed an interesting phenomenon over the past couple of months. Would you believe that more people are choosing to stay home and rent movies?

With the economy tanking and people out of jobs, they need to save money. So instead of going to the movie theaters, they have taken up going to Blockbuster and such instead.

AMC Movies is a great cinema hall destination because they tend to have these coupons for cheap movies. You can watch any movie as long as it is not new for free.

Loews and Regal are also two of the next very popular theaters out there.

Prices vary across the country. For those that live in California, people pay over $10. A family of 4 would expect to spend about $60 in movies and snacks when going to the movies instead of about $5 if renting a new movie.

The downside to renting is that you cannot watch the latest of movies, you are stuck watching an older movie.
